Introduction
The impacts of climate change are already being felt. Despite efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, future changes to Tasmania’s climate are inevitable. These changes will result from greenhouse gas emissions that have already been emitted into the atmosphere and will continue to be emitted in coming years.
It is important that agricultural producers continue to play a role in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and also prepare their enterprises to operate effectively in a changing climate; taking advantage of new opportunities and reducing vulnerability to detrimental climate change impacts.
This workshop provides an overview of greenhouse gas emissions from agricultural enterprises, climate change projections for Tasmania, and the challenges and opportunities associated with those projections for agriculture production.
