Having watched the film, share your thoughts on the below questions.

Again, you can comment on each other's thoughts, but remember this is a friendly, safe space to share ideas.

    • In the film Charles Massey says that biodynamic and permaculture are forms of regenerative agriculture. Do you agree with this?  Are there other farming methods that also fall under this definition? How about agroecology?

    • How important is it to have a clear-cut definition of each of these farming methods (for example, for certification purposes)? Are they still useful terms without clear definitions? Are we at risk of setting up different systems against each other?

    • Refer back to the quote we provided from AFSA, saying that regen ag was being co-opted, in ways similar to the organic movement. Is this a fair assumption, and if so could the same happen to agroecology?

  • Is certification important and necessary? Is transparency enough when it comes to farming practices? And if so, how can larger agribusinesses be as transparent as small-scale operations?
